Clementina 7th August 2021

Our friendship started in the mid 90s on the corridors of UEL. Come exam time he’d be studying with Habib in one of the classrooms and I’d disturb them always as I enjoyed chatting with them. My heart goes out to Habib, his longtime friend. I remember inviting him and some guys to my 30th birthday party way back then and he came with his crew. It was a lovely evening. We remained in touch after Uni and would chat and laugh about everything. He’d bring me up to date with events I’d have missed as I was doing a lot of travelling. A few years later we both faced health challenges. He reached out unaware I had been ill only to tell me of his ordeal. We promised to see each other again, catch up in person and thank the Lord for life. It wasn’t to be. My heart broke at hearing of his passing. He was a great guy with a distinct laugh. May God clear his path and receive him home 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽. I know he is in a good place because he was a good man! In my Ndebele language we say, “Lala kahle mfowethu” meaning sleep well my brother 🙏🏽.
